A recent survey carried out on Nurses.co.uk showed that only 20.9% of UK nurses think that assisted suicide should be legalised here.

With the recent high profile cases of UK citizens opting for assisted suicide in clinics overseas it raises the question of whether it should be legalised here in the UK. European countries such as Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg already allow assisted suicide to take place legally and there are growing calls in other European countries including the UK to follow suit.

“With Nurses being on the front line of care here in the UK we wanted to get their opinion on this sensitive subject” stated Matt Farrah, Sales Director of Nurses.co.uk. “The results show overwhelmingly that nurses here in the UK would like the law to remain as it is and for assisted suicide to remain illegal.”
