Dear Ms. Spencer:

REFERENCE: Letter dated March 1, 2017 addressed to XXXXXXXX (Suite # 101) (letter attached)

Ms. XXXXXX has asked me to address the said letter. We are pleased to do so.

Your letter states that Xxxxxxx has been violent, both verbally and physically, has disrupted the daily life of residents. You threatened her with eviction. You have identified her behavior as abusive and destructive.
However you have provided no example to substantiate your strong allegations.

Please advise us in writing with facts which substantiate these allegations.

Please also identify for us the reason for the radical act of calling the Rural Police and Crisis Team.

On the evening of February 28, 2017 you called the crisis team to detain and interrogate this senior. Constable Day and person named Fola (sp) attended. They administered a cognitive test which of course she passed easily.

When they left, Fola said thank you, however Ms. XXXXXX told us, that Constable Day threatened her saying something to the effect that if there was “another incident’. Please advise us as to the alleged incident?

For a senior to be suddenly confronted by police at evening time in the privacy of their suite / home, would be most frightening, intimidating and we suggest abusive.

We submit that we are aware that other residents of Discovery Place like Ms. XXXXXXX. As a matter of fact we have been told that some regularly report to her when Xxxxx Xxxxx, her guardians and trustees come to Discovery Place and sit lengthily in your office (but then fail to visit, provide support or care to the represented adult). Some long time ago, it was reported to Ms.Xxxxxx that they overheard her being discussed by you and the guardians,
allegedly the conversation was not favorable.

We have known X xxxxxxx since March 27, 2011. We know her well. We have never known her to be violent, aggressive or vengeful. She is a quiet, gentle person who has a strong sense of justice and rights. She internalizes issues which perhaps is why she suffers from severe herpes zoster / shingles.

When she is targeted / abused, she retreats, is passive, which is what she is doing in response to being arbitrarily, without cause, ordered out of the dining room last Wednesday. She has informed us that she was then also ordered out of your office. As you must know, she has not left her room nor eaten since last Wednesday. Please advise us concerning the details of that matter.

Please allow us to be in receipt of your response, the answers to our queries, by the 20th, November, 2017.

Thank you.

Yours truly,
