"Rise in the presence of the aged, and show respect for the elderly."

Covid Denies Seniors Rights.

I spoke with a lady whom i have known for many years, (by telephone), who is in a
locked unit (Edmonton) who strongly told me,
“We can’t go outside now.”no fresh air,
no exercise, for we do not know how long.

She is locked up and keenly experiences it.

This was a person who in earlier times was active, took long daily walks early in the day.
She had, had a companion who came to the facility twice a week, who can no longer
attend.

She has a Birthday today, I was going to send flowers to brighten her day, however
Safeway & such are not making deliveries because of the covid.

MY FRIEND SOUNDED AS BEING IN TOTAL, HOPELESS DESPAIR.

COMMENT:

1) There is the other side of long term care, ward whose staff are overstretched at
the best of times however now with some staff ill, it has become an incredible
nightmare.

2) For decades, understaffing is the reality of long term care which has in many long
term care units resulted WAREHOUSING.

) Are those elderly who are sick with the coronavirus provided ethical nursing care?

4) Are they provided with respirators?
