Mandatory, medical assessments of older Albertans

We have learned that the mandatory, medical assessments of older Alberta citizens and the introduction of the Simard MD and DriveABLE pilot project happened under your watch as Premier. Dr. Allan Dobbs, PhD has stated publicly that you gave express approval for the protocol.

Therefore please advise us:

1. What prompted your government to introduce the mass monitoring of older Albertans in 2003?

2. Who, (what department) of the University of Alberta approved the computer based DriveABLE testing project?

3. Who determined that Alberta’s Heritage Savings Trust Fund money should be used for the DriveABLE project?

4. What amount of the Alberta’s Heritage Savings Trust Fund money was given for the DriveABLE Assessment Project?

5. Who wrote the computer program for the DriveABLE computer based assessment?

6. What was the nature of the research project carried out by Allan Dobbs et al, in the 1990’s at the Northern Alberta Regional Geriatric Centre (NARG) located at the General Hospital, Edmonton?

We continue to receive reports of senior citizens suffering egregious harm due to the Simard MD and DriveABLE protocol, citizens who built the wealth of this country.
