Unlawfully detained.

RCMP retired forensic officer, Bernie)
whom we know to have capacity
(we know of the assessments that were conducted) is being unlawfully
detained by his daughter and son-in-law.
Some months ago this man, Bernie, was kidnapped by an unknown person from his condo at Shepherds Care and was relocated to Chartwell Wescott.
Somehow we found him, and, of course, tried to continue to help him regain his rights.
Because we became quite engaged in the matter, son-in-law was irate, met us at the Chartwell, told me that he had gone to the EPS to somehow have me charged, said he had a lawyer and was going to sue me and all kinds of things.

A day or so ago, he went missing again. We met with my lawyer, but he said he couldn’t do anything and so we went to the Edmonton Police Service.
The Officer with whom we met was incredibly patient, listening. Responded that they would look for Bernie, find him and ask him what he wanted.
It was helpful that there was already a complaint with a police file number, in regard to the time when he had been previously abducted.

Throughout my journey I have found police don’t always listen, they say its civil, theft, financial abuse of sorts, or the kind of story we brought this Officer.
So we are cheering big time for a change that our complaint was received.

The following story is very typical. If an older person has some money or even a lot of money, somebody wants it,

Dr. declares the senior incompetent with a stroke of the pen

The doctor may not even interview the senior, but just accept a report of the family member who has a vested interest because the elder has money / estate.
Once the older person is declared incompetent and locked up. There is no way to help them.
If the elder were a prisoner in a federal prison, he would be appointed a lawyer. Not the elder in this matter.

Once declared to not have capacity, all charter rights are abrogated, the elder has absolutely no rights, becomes a non-person.

The predator, who obtains agency for the Personal Directive, and the Power of Attorney, has total power over the victimized senior.
Even courts will not intervene in regard to the powers granted to the agent of the Personal Directive and Powers of Attorney

We have a long list of such persons, many who died in lock up.
This is horrible and it is epidemic.

We have been contacting Alberta justice and Seniors since 2004.

In 2004, Peter M., a multimillionaire who came to Canada with $39 worked hard, had rental property, was declared not to have capacity by a corrupt geriatrician who said that Peter suffered from aphasia and agnosia

A corrupt lawyer relayed this information to the court and failed to inform the court that he was a multi millionaire.

He was detained for three years in an Alzheimer ward, he would somehow find a phone and tell us all that went on in the horrible place such as locked up at night with no staf, poor food and no seconds and no evidence of Christmas at Christmas time.
Then after three years he was allowed into the general population because it was determined that he did not suffer from Alzheimer disease but was totally competent.

He was never given back his rights or his gold watch.
He was allowed to walk around Beaumaris lake and parts.
Died without his rights restored

When one becomes elderly, ones rights dissipate.
