Services,has been appointed interim chief executive officer of

Alberta’snew health superboard and will be in charge of running

Alberta’s$13-billion-a-year health system until March 31, 2009.

She will earn$550,000 this year & work with Ken Hughes, board

chairman who will earn $60,000 this year, plus $1,000 for each

formal public meeting. Up to 15 board members will make $40,000

each, plus $750 for each meeting, for their part-time roles.

“I believe Albertans will get good value for their dollars,” Health

Minister Ron Liepert said. “It’s considerably less than the regional

CEOs were being paid in some cases.”

Calgary Health CEO Jack Davis earned $1.2 million

last year and Capital Health’s Sheila Weatherill earned

$880,000including salary and benefits.
