INSUFFICIENT CALORIES TO SUSTAIN LIFE
Home > Blog > INSUFFICIENT CALORIES TO SUSTAIN LIFEWe have learned that a long term care provider admitted
to a family member that they provided insufficient calories
to their nursing home clients to sustain life.
Consider the resulting process. Weight loss, weakened,
debilitation, mental confusion due to inadequate nutrition,
skin breakdown with resultant bedsores. Bedsores, open
lesions exposing bones or body cavity, become infected,
septicemia (blood poisoning) results causing organ
dysfunction, mental dysfunction, fever, sweating, decreased
blood pressure and finally death.
