on O’Connor Dr., 78 yr. old Florence RoseCoxon, who
suffered fromAlzheimer’s disease, struggledto slide free
from the restrainingbelt at her waist, butthe strap caught
her throat and strangled her.
Det. Sgt. Al Haunts, of 54 Division in Scarborough, Ont. said
yesterdaythat police believe Coxon died from “asphyxiation”
on Sundaynight at the nursing home.
David Cutler, CEO of Leisureworld, said he is “confident” that
rulesaround the use of restraints were followed.
