Residents mourn closure of Autumn Lodge, Berwyn.

Flag is flying half mast.

FAIRVIEW – Bill Rowe who lowered flag at flag pole at Autumn Lodge in Berwyn Feb. 20 which was flying the flag at half mast, mourning the announced closure of Autumn Lodge.
Rowe explained he helped get the flag pole installed about five years ago after a conversation with another resident, Art Smith, who felt very strongly the lodge should have one.
Rowe contacted Mel Coates who has a welding shop in town for some help and Les Ford at the MD helped with installation. Smith felt so strongly about the need to have a flag pole that once it was installed he said he could now die in peace.

Rowe was indignant at the disrespect and/or neglect shown at residents having to spearhead the installation.

He also feels the closure the lodge was done illegally and that the announcement made victims of the 33 senior citizens who were residents at the time.
