C.P. H ALIFAX — Health Minister Chris d’Entremont wants to know why it took five days

for his department to tell him thattwo nurses had taped shut the mouth of an elderly

nursing home patientin New Glasgow last month.

Nurses at Glen Haven Manor drew a happy face on the tape covering the elderly

woman’s mouth, until Wednesday.

He said he has since been told that someone in his department was notified

by Glen Haven Manor’s Board of Directors last Friday.

The patient, was described as a woman in her 80s.
