Hospitalsince April 25/08, eight months.He is not allowed to leave the ward.

His daughter was named the agent of a PersonalDirectivewhich has been activated.

Two Form I’s signed by physicians state that he has “poor insight and judgement”,

which are the documents that have stripped him of all his rights & make it possible to

keep him there. If he should manage to leave, the police would be called & he would

be returned to the hospital.

Posted on the day room window is a sign that states that blinds are not to be closed.

He has been detained like an animal in a zoo.

Initially nursing night staff would go into the day room at night to watch TV or sleep there.

This man is lucid. He has a home. Seniors are being locked up at public expense

who should be and wish to be at home.

We are calling on Government to Repeal Bill # 24, Adult Guardianship and

Trusteeship Actwhich is legislatively, sanctioned elder abuse. This Bill is intended

toreplace the Dependent Adults Act.
