According to Brenda Lee Doyle, Office of the Public Guardian, now, not only can physicians, psychologists and psychiatrists, declare seniors incompetent & strip them of all rights and monies, the AB. Government “is designating occupational therapists, social workers, RN’s, and registered psychiatric and mental deficiency nurses” to also become capacity assessors. They will have power to strip you of all your rights. They will be paid $500.00 for each assessment. According to Doyle, some have already been appointed.Physicians and psychiatrists can still charge $5,000 – $7,500. per assessment.
