Todays News Release by Alberta Health & Alberta Seniors is a facade and a deception.

The government has promisednew, updated, provincial standards. Unfortunately

as we reviewed the documents,we found them to be little more than policy statements,

most of which have been previouslypublished. Furthermore, there is no immediate

provisionto establish complianceas noted inthe following Standard 1.24.

“1.24 (a) Regional health authorities shall establish policies and processes toensure compliance with continuing care health service standardslegislation. (M)“

There are also no stated penalties for those who fail to maintain the standards.
